This game has become quite well-known, as a modern indie game classic. 
It's your standard 8-bit action game, inspired by Ninja Gaiden, but a few hours into the game, some pretty stunning stuff starts happening, that takes it into a whole new era... I won't spoilt it though!

It's great. Highly recommended.
